Rev. Christine Long, new Church Consultant for Board of Pensions, highlighted three areas of service to employees of churches and church-affiliated employees.
- Assistance Program, serving more in 2022
Need-based grants to active and retired members of the Benefits Plan of the PCUSA and their families. In 2020 1,339 grants were given for a total of $9.3 million dollars. The program will expand in 2022. - Ministers Choice offers Pension, Disability and other protections to non-installed ministers.
5 Common Questions on Minister’s Choice (A new program in 2021) - Retirement Savings Plans such as the state’s CalSavers program and Board of Pensions 403(b)(9) investment program can be set up at any time of the year (not bound by an enrollment program).
