See International Peacemaker Julie Kandema Oct 5 – Oct 9
Rev. Julie Kandema, the Vice-President of the Presbyterian Church of Rwanda, visits the Presbytery of San Jose on the week of Oct 5 - Oct 9.
Rev. Julie Kandema is Vice-President of the Presbyterian Church of Rwanda, a partner of Presbyterian World Mission. Her Presbyterian Peacemaking tour includes San Jose.
Rev. Kandema shares the story of Rwanda in a geographical and geopolitical context, and describes her church’s role in the economic recovery of civil war, in reconciliation work, and in caring for victims of the 1994 genocide, mostly widows and orphans.
“We need to learn from her as she teaches about the reconciliation of two warring tribes,” writes Dorothy Dickson, Mission Elder of First Presbyterian Church of Monterey, and member of San Jose Presbytery’s Peace and Justice Work Group.
Julie Kandema will make four appearances next week.
Don’t miss out on her fascinating story.
