Session One-Staying At Home- What Do I Need to Know? Rev. Dr. Libby Boatwright

  • Emergencies- First Alert, who to call/alert
  • Medical Matters- ADs, POLST, HIPAA Authorization, levels of care
  • Signs of Transition- ADLs, home assistance/redesigning the home space

Session Two- Feeling Safe– Cindy Thorp, JD

Rev. Dr. Libby Boatwright, BCC-PCHAC is both a Minister of Word and Sacrament of PCUSA  and a board-certified Chaplain with advance certification in Palliative Care and Hospice. She  currently serves as a Parish Associate at Sunnyvale Presbyterian is a relief Chaplain at  Stanford Medical Center, and is the author of The Last Things We Talk About

Cindy Thorp, JD is co-chair for the Elder Abuse Task Force of Santa Clara Co. and has been  active with this board for over 35 years. She was the Supervising Attorney at Senior Adults  Legal Assistance (SALA) for 6 years and handled elder law cases privately the past few years.  She currently spends the majority of her time training and educating professionals and the  public through workshops 

Tiffany Mikles has worked in geriatric care since 1988. She has a Physical Therapist Assistant  Applied Science degree, a Social Service Director Certification, and an Activity Director  Certification. She has been speaking publicly and providing training for over 32 years. Tiffany’s  passion lies in coaching family caregivers thru the progression of dementia. She has been an  Administrator of designated dementia units, was the sole owner of ‘Dementia Care Coaching’  for 11 years and currently serves at the ‘Alzheimer’s Association’.
